Greg Williams

Greg Williams on the other hand is better at telling the story through a series of images rather than a single one. In this case I’ve chosen to look at his fashion shoot called Espionage, which tells the story of a spy and her subject. The series consists of 14 images, but I will only include a couple. The photos in the series are consistent thanks to his conscious colour choice and styling (i.e. clothes, makeup, and hair). One might not see this as the highly stylized fashion shoot it is at first glance, one might follow the narrative more than the clothes. I really enjoy this series because you can easily see how the story develops, through these 14 images you almost get to know the characters and their situations, and even though this is a fashion series you might feel something by the end of it. What exactly you feel is entirely up to yourself.

He has worked with his location really well, he’s been able to physically split the two characters with a wall, but he has also enhanced the separation with lights, props and colours, which changes throughout the series, to intensify the change in their relationship.
